"Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ." Colossians 2:8 |
We Believe
This page is a basic run down of the fundamentals this organization stands on. What you read here comes directly from Article 2, Section 3 of our Bylaws, without modification. The base beliefs of this organization are as follows: (a) Word of God. 1. We believe the Bible to be the infallible Word of God, and the Divine rule of faith and conduct. (II Timothy 3:16-17) 2. The Bible is made up of 66 books split into Old Testament and New Testament. 3. Those 66 books are: (Old Testament) Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, Deuteronomy, Joshua, Judges, Ruth, I Samuel, II Samuel, I Kings, II Kings, I Chronicles, II Chronicles, Ezra, Nehemiah, Esther, Job, Psalms, Proverbs, Ecclesiastes, Song of Solomon, Isaiah, Jeremiah, Lamentations, Ezekiel, Daniel, Hosea, Joel, Amos, Obadiah, Jonah, Micah, Nahum, Habakkuk, Zephaniah, Haggai, Zachariah, Malachi - (New Testament) Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Acts, Romans, I Corinthians, II Corinthians, Galatians, Ephesians, Philippians, Colossians, I Thessalonians, II Thessalonians, I Timothy, II Timothy, Titus, Philemon, Hebrews, James, I Peter, II Peter, I John, II John, III John, Jude, Revelation. (b) We believe God created the heavens and the earth. (Genesis 1:1) (c) We believe God is a Triune Being consisting of God The Father, God The Son (Jesus Christ), and God The Holy Ghost. (Matthew 28:19-20, Luke 3:21-22) (d) We believe Jesus Christ is The Son of God. (Luke 1:35, 3:21-22) (e) We believe Jesus was conceived of The Holy Ghost, born of a virgin, (Matthew 1:18-23, Luke 1:34-38) lived as a man, (Luke 2:11-12, 3:23-38) died on a cross, (Matthew 27:39-50, Mark 15:29-37, Luke 23:24-47, John 19:14-30) rose from the dead on the third day, (Matthew 16:21, 20:18-19, Mark 9:31, 10:34, Luke 9:22, 18:33, 24:7, 24:21-23) ascended to heaven to sit at the right-hand of The Father; (Acts 2:31-36) and will return (Second Coming) (John 14:1-4) at a time which no man knows, to gather all those who have received Him, both dead and alive, to Himself. (Matthew 24:25-51, I Corinthians 15:51-52, I Thessalonians 4:15-18) (f) We believe after Jesus returned to heaven, The Holy Ghost was sent to earth. (John 14:25-26, Acts 2) (g) We believe in three Baptisms. 1. Baptism in the name of Jesus, also referred to as, being washed in the Blood of Jesus Christ: (Acts 2:38, Revelation 1:5-6) The ultimate point of this Baptism is that our physical forms will have to die in order for us to fully shed sin from our lives. However, through Jesus’ shed Blood, God has provided a way for us to live once more and never again be hindered by sin. (I Corinthians 15:42-58) For those who desire God in their lives, this knowledge is a spiritual and mental Baptism, even while still in this life. (Romans 3:21-26, 10:8-11, I John 1:9) Knowing Jesus’ Blood washes away all sin, we can live our lives repenting from sin and become the servants of righteousness. (Romans 6:1-23) 2. Baptism in water: This is a physical Baptism by full immersion in water. It is a public symbol that a person accepts, and believes in, the Baptism in the name of Jesus. We believe once an individual has come to, and accepted the saving knowledge that if we die in Christ, we shall be raised like Him, then and only then, they should follow The Lord in Water Baptism (Matthew 3:13-17, Mark 1:9-11) to show the world they have accepted Jesus Christ as their Lord and Saviour. (Acts 8:35-39) We do not believe Water Baptism is necessary for salvation. 3. Baptism of The Holy Ghost: We believe, any person who has been washed in the Blood of Jesus Christ may receive the Baptism of The Holy Ghost (Acts 5:32, John 7:38-39) with the evidence of speaking in tongues, as in accordance with Acts, chapter 2. We also believe any believer who has received the Baptism of The Holy Ghost may receive gifts of The Spirit. (I Corinthians 12:7-11) We do not believe this Baptism is necessary for salvation. (h) We believe faith is a relationship with God. (Romans 4:1-5) (i) We believe salvation is the only way to heaven, and salvation is provided only through the shed Blood of Jesus Christ. (Luke 24:45-47, John 10:9, 11:25-26, 14:6) Salvation is only granted by the grace of God, to those who seek a relationship with Him; and faith is only available because God offers it to every individual. (Romans 12:3, Ephesians 2:8-9, I John 5:4) We believe anyone desiring salvation should turn from the ways of this world, asking Jesus Christ to wash away their sins (Baptism in the name of Jesus), and accepting Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour. (Acts 2:38) (j) We believe the Blood of Jesus Christ washes away all sin, (I John 1:7) but according to Matthew 12:31-32, Mark 3:28-30, and Luke 12:10, there is one sin which will not be forgiven, that is the blaspheming of The Holy Ghost. (k) We believe that persons confessing a relationship with God (faith) should abstain from the following conduct, items and/or activities: 1. Alcoholic products, excluding those produced exclusively for medical purposes; (Luke 21:34, Galatians 5:19-21) 2. All illegal drugs; (Romans 13:13-14) 3. All tobacco substances and products; (Romans 13:13-14) 4. The wearing of immodest apparel; (Romans 14:13, I Timothy 2:9) 5. Participating in organizations and activities which promote a lifestyle contrary to the teachings of the Bible. (Ephesians 5:11) (l) We believe in the Second Coming of Jesus Christ, (Mark 13:21-27, John 14:27-29) and that no man knows when this event will take place. (Matthew 24:32-36, Mark 13:28-37) At that time: 1. He will resurrect the dead in Christ and bring those who are alive and serving Him, unto Himself, changing their corruptible bodies to incorruptible. (I Thessalonians 4:13-18, I Corinthians 15:51-53) 2. He will physically set His feet on the Mount of Olives, to fight for Jerusalem and Israel. (Zechariah 14:1-5) 3. He will defeat His enemies, (Revelation 19:11-21) and reign over all the earth while the devil is locked away in the bottomless pit for the first thousand years of His reign. (Revelation 20:1-3) We believe that during Christ’s reign there will be peace and perfect justice on the earth. (Isaiah 11:1-9) (m) We believe, immediately following Christ’s reign on this earth, there will come the Day of Judgment, at which, God will eternally separate those who have received Him from those who have not. (Revelation 20:7-15) (n) We believe in hell as a place prepared by God where His presence does not exist. This place is described in the Word of God as a place of outer darkness (Matthew 22:13, 25:30) that will burn eternally with fire. On Judgment Day, all those who have not received and maintained a relationship with God (faith) will be sent to this place. (Matthew 25, Revelation 20:15) (o) We believe in Divine Healing through the name of Jesus. (John 14:13, James 5:14-15) (p) It is the intransigent position of Living Springs that the Jewish people are, and always will be, the chosen people of God! (Genesis 17, Exodus 2:24-25) That God gave this blessing without repentance. That they who bless them will be blessed, and they who curse them will be cursed. (Genesis 12:1-3) Let no part of this organization, its beliefs, and/or its teachings be misconstrued, misinterpreted or misrepresented to assert or contend something contrary to the above stated position! (q) We believe Saturday is the seventh day of the week, as defined by God at Creation, (Genesis 2:1-3) observed by His chosen people (the Jews) (Exodus 20:9-11, Mark 15:42-43, Acts 13:14-15, 13:27, 15:21) and affirmed by Jesus Christ. (Matthew 12:1-13, Matthew 28:1, Mark 6:1-4, Luke 4:16) We, therefore, believe Saturday should be recognized as the Sabbath, and kept holy as required by the fourth commandment. (Exodus 20:8-11)
