This series is a Q&A segment which, due to its length, was divided into parts so that it could appear in Living Springs Institute's bimonthly publication, Shaqah. A good introduction to this series is contained in the first couple of paragraphs of Part I. The question asked was, "Does the spirit leave the body at the time of death? Then Jesus comes at the end of time and takes the soul home to heaven." The answer covers many subjects relating to death and the Second Coming of Christ, such as the resurrection, heaven, hell, grave sleeping, being born again, Judgment Day and much more!
The individual parts of this Q&A are presented here without modification, just as they appeared in each of their respective issues of Shaqah. However, for convenience, each part has been republished in its own independent PDF file so you can read, save, and print them as you may desire.
Part I contains the introduction to this series as a whole, and points out the basics that are necessary to our understanding the answer to the question this series is based on. From there, it begins a discussion about how our environment was created, with a focus on the creation of time and life.
Part II is primarily about the fact death is inescapable for our flesh, and its focus is on why that is a problem. Thus, this part covers the fact God is a Triune Being and we are created in the image of God, which makes us a being consisting of three parts as well. It discusses why each of the three parts are very necessary to our being a whole individual!
Part III continues the discussion about humans being created as triune beings in the image of God. In doing so, it goes into a thorough look at the conversation where Jesus tells Nicodemus the truth about our need to be born again in order to be saved.
Part IV continues the discussion that Jesus told Nicodemus we must be born again in order to be saved. It talks about how we do not often use the terms "born again" and/or "saved" properly, and this causes us to stumble. This part also begins the discussion of ideas people have about what happens to us after death, and why many of these theories do not fit with what the Bible tells us.
Part V continues the discussion of classical human thought verses true Biblical teaching about what happens to us after death. It discusses the differences between being raised from the dead such as Lazarus was, the resurrection of Christ, and the resurrection we need to truly be born again. This information leads us into the main discussion of this series about where we go after death.
Part VI starts by talking about the possibilities of where we could go upon death, and goes into a discussion about the stories in the Bible that relate to this issue. This leads into covering the answer at the heart of the question this series is based on, which is the truth about what actually does happen to us upon death!
Part VII goes into a discussion about why true believers in God, living on this side of Christ's second coming, go where they do upon death. It also gets into where those who fit into different categories of time and/or belief go, and discusses why. To clarify the overall subject of where we go upon death, this part discusses doctrinal subjects related to the Second Coming of Christ such as the tribulation and what is termed "the rapture."
