The Reserve Fund's intent is not to create a pool of cash that can be dipped into any time the organization would like to improve or expand its general operations. Nor is it for creating new programs or expanding existing ones. The Reserve Fund's intent is twofold.
1. In the event donations drop off and/or the general fund drops below what is necessary to maintain the organization's ongoing operations, the Reserve Fund can be borrowed from in order to ensure the continuation of current operations and ultimately the survival of the organization.
2. To hopefully build a fund large enough that interest from such fund might provide a continuous stream of income that will assist the running of the organization and its programs on an ongoing basis.
